PRIMEUR 2020 – Château Clarisse Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion – Markus Del Monego – 91

Dark pruple colour with violet hue and black core. Expressive nose with juicy fruit, ripe berries, plums and black cherries, discreet spiciness and fine toasting aroma in the background. On the palate well balanced with ripe yet firm tannins, juicy fruit, freshness and very good lenght.

PRIMEURS 2020 – Château Clarisse Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion Vieilles Vignes – Jean-Marc Quarin – 91

PRIMEURS 2020 – Château Clarisse Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion Vieilles Vignes 2020 – James Suckling – 90/91

90-91 Full-bodied with ripe berry, dark earth and chewy earth and chewy tannins. Rich and tannic. A little rustic, but impressive for the appellation.

PRIMEURS – Château Clarisse Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion 2020 – James Suckling – 91/92

A linear, chewy red with purple-fruit and blackberry character. It’s medium-bodied with a flavorful finish. Shows focus. – 91/92

2019 – Château Clarisse – 16.5/20 Jancis Robinson

A little stinky on the nose – drains. Less plush and less glossy fruit than the regular bottling. Drying tannins. But plenty tucked in for the longer term and some rather exciting intensity of dark fruit and minerals at the core.

2017 – Château Clarisse – Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux – Jancis Robinson – 16.5/20

Quite fragrant and with beautiful dark-red fruit intensity on the nose and palate. Something a little autumnal, with the tiny, tight, glossy, fire-engine-bright red berries of autumn as well. This is so superior to the 2018 vintage of hte samedi wine! Chalk and cheese. You actually want to drink this wine rather than suffering throught … >> Lire la suite

2017 – Château Clarisse – Jancis Robinson – 16/20

A rather flattering nose. Blackberry-jam sweetness offset by menthol-tinged acidity and directed, ambitious structure. Beautifully integrated. Coal-dusted minerality layering dark fruit, dark spice, iron and sous bois. Mushroom-ketchup umami notes in the framework, a subtle touch of lavender counteracting the darker flavours. Emphatic tannins set to carry the wine to long-term.

2017 – Château Clarisse Vieilles Vignes – Jancis Robinson – 16.5/20

An intense blackcurrant-and-green-pepper nose – but sweet, like some kind of weird Fat-Duck-style bonbon. Big, ripe cassis fruit on the palate, cocooned in sooty tannins. Dry, firm but reasonably trestrained tannic structure. Sandalwoo and freshly planed pine. Full-bodied but has kept its focus.   Was much more melded on day three, with the fruit resolving … >> Lire la suite
