PRIMEURS 2020 – Château Clarisse Vieilles Vignes – Antonio Galloni – 89-91

The 2020 Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is vibrant and loaded with energy. Bright acids drive the red berry fruit, while floral, spice and blood orange notes add quite a bit of aromatic presence. The2020 is a little nervy, but it has fine balance and appears to have enough fruit to fill out the layers.

The 2020 Clarisse Vieilles Vignes gives more amplitude and intensity than the regular cuvée, offering plush black cherries, blueberry and violet aromas. The palace is medium-bodied with a similar texture yet there is a little more salnity and certainly more persistence on the finish. Give this 2-3years in bottle

91 Floral, smoky, fruity and savory, the wine is medium-bodied, fresh and focuses on its ripe, red berry core of fruits. Soft textured and forward, this charmer will be easy to enjoy on release. This is the second vintage where the wine is 100% bio.

94 Pure, intense and precise nose, floral dark fruit notes, dark cherry and cassis with fine and discreet oak. Good volume on the palate, concentrated fruit with a fresh backbone, supple and well-polished tannin followed by a very long and lingering finish. Great potential here…

Dark pruple colour with violet hue and black core. Expressive nose with juicy fruit, ripe berries, plums and black cherries, discreet spiciness and fine toasting aroma in the background. On the palate well balanced with ripe yet firm tannins, juicy fruit, freshness and very good lenght.

PRIMEUR 2020 – CHÂTEAU CLARISSE PUISSEGUIN SAINT-EMILION – TERRE DE VINS – 91-92

  91-92 Fruit mûr à point, annonçant une jolie densité. La bouche est plutôt mordante, élancée, construite autour d’une matière al dente et d’une bonne trame acide. Tanins fermes mais fins, bonne allonge, finale légèrement acidulée sur un petit fruit croquant.

A little stinky on the nose – drains. Less plush and less glossy fruit than the regular bottling. Drying tannins. But plenty tucked in for the longer term and some rather exciting intensity of dark fruit and minerals at the core.
